Stacia was a military brat who grew up in the west, southeast and northeast of the United States. She completed her undergrad degree in Fine Art in Boston, but returned to school later in life to complete an Art Therapy master’s degree while living in Pennsylvania. Stacia has worked with families, individuals, children and teens for over 8 years and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia in 2021. Stacia’s professional interests lean towards working with trauma and families through creative means, and she is trained in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR) trauma therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, all underpinned by a foundation of art and expressive therapy.
Stacia has experience working with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, traumatic stress disorders (ie, PTSD), mood disorders, autism, ADHD, parent-child relational problems, grief and loss, school issues and life transitions. Her work focuses on changing and improving relational patterns and understanding one’s inner experiences to foster growth. Stacia works from a client-centered perspective, believes in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals, and uses the power of creativity and play in healing attachment and trauma.
When Stacia is not figuring out the best way to help people be their best selves, she enjoys walking her dogs with her husband out in the beautiful wilds of Virginia, watching her silly chickens, and being creative, which includes making constant improvements to her 101 year old house
